Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider is an action-adventure video game developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive. It was originally released in 1996 for the Sega Saturn, PlayStation, and MS-DOS platforms.

Lara Croft receives a commission from Jacqueline Natla, the CEO of Natla Technologies, to unearth a mysterious artifact believed to be hidden in a Peruvian tomb. Assisted by the player, Lara discovers that the artifact is just a fragment of a more potent object—the Scion, a relic from the lost continent Atlantis. To her surprise, Lara realizes she's not the sole seeker of the Scion, and her seemingly reputable employer is harboring unexpected secrets.

The game comprises 15 expansive levels, leading Lara through ancient ruins in South America, Greece, Egypt, and ultimately Atlantis itself.

Tomb Raider was among the pioneers in successfully merging action and adventure genres. While the graphics and controls may seem primitive by contemporary standards, the game's emphasis on exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat, along with its enduring story, contribute to its timeless appeal.
